The vision of the project

There are many operating system distros in the software world. You may be wondering what is the difference between the OSHS and other operating systems. Here is a brief list of the features of the operating system of my dreams. Some of them are available nowhere and I want OSHS to have all of them.

- Very low hardware requirements
With the OSHS you can pull your wasted old hardware out of the trash can and set it up for useful work.
- Exceptionally small size
The OSHS is a tiny operating system. It is probably the tinniest modern operating system of the world.
- Agile response
The system responds much faster than other modern operating systems. Even on old and slow hardware!
- Filesystem robustness
If the system is idle and power unexpectedly fails, no data will be damaged and no filesystem checking will be performed when the system is booted after power restoration. This is achieved by transparent filesystem unmounts.
- Consistency
You do not have to invent a way how to describe the package build and installation process each time you want to create a new software package. The OSHS provides the method and means for you.
- Readable source code
Say goodbye to configure scripts, pollution coming from optional features and internationalization and ideas burried under thousands of #if[def] preprocessor directives. No other software project of this size allows new hackers to enter development so painlessly.
- CrossPlatformity
Porting software to new hardware was never simpler before.
